The Donnybrook Balingup Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. is excited to announce our Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for Tuesday, 22nd October 2024. We warmly invite all members present and future to join us for this important event, where we’ll reflect on the past year, discuss future plans, and elect the Chamber’s new leadership for 2025.
The AGM offers an excellent opportunity for members to:
– Celebrate the Chamber’s achievements from the past year, including successful initiatives, events, and projects that have supported local businesses and the wider community.
– Learn about the Chamber’s financial standing and overall performance, ensuring transparency and accountability.
– Discuss goals for 2025, focusing on economic growth, business support, and community collaboration.
– Elect the new committee for the upcoming year, with all positions open for nominations.

New for 2025: Membership Changes
We’re pleased to announce important updates to our membership structure for 2025. For the first time membership is open to anyone who supports our objectives from our new constitution of supporting local economic development. This can be any business representative, individual or community organisation and not just a business operating in the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup. We are also offering Associate membership rates where you are welcome to join the committee meetings but do not have voting rights.
This exciting change means businesses, local community organisations, not-for-profit group, and individuals who are passionate about the economic and social well-being of our region can now become members of the Chamber. With expanding our membership base, we aim to foster greater collaboration, inclusivity, and a stronger sense of shared purpose in supporting Donnybrook Balingup.
What this means for you:
– Community groups will have access to Chamber resources, networking opportunities, and the ability to contribute to business and community development.
– Individuals with an interest in supporting local business growth or getting involved in community initiatives can now actively participate, including voting at the AGM and running for committee positions.
Whether you’re a local business, community group, or individual, this is your chance to join a vibrant, proactive organisation that is dedicated to creating a thriving local economy and community.

Interested in Joining the Committee?
If you’re keen to take a more active role, we encourage you to consider nominating for a committee position. All positions are open for election at the AGM. Our committee meets every second month on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM, with additional meetings as needed.
By joining the committee, you can:
– Influence the Chamber’s direction and contribute to strategic decisions.
– Build relationships with local business owners, community leaders, and stakeholders.
– Create a positive impact** on both the local business environment and the wider community.
How to Nominate:
1. Complete the nomination form (available at the Chamber office or via email request).
2. Submit your form by 23rd September 2024 to secretary@dbchamber.com.au or drop it off at the Chamber office. Nominations will be accepted on the night if the positions are not filled.
