We are shining a spotlight on Oakway Estate Wines this month, a boutique local winery located on Farley Road, Paynedale.
The property originally supported apple and stone fruit orchards before its potential for producing premium wines was realised by Wayne and Ria in 1991. Three generations of the Hammond family have worked together to create the vineyards of Oakway Estate.
Today the 100 acre property supports the winery, nanobrewery and cellar door, vineyard, a plantation of sustainable blue gum trees and a small herd of beef cattle.
